Toyota’s latest blue paint is fantastic, but it’s limited to select models
Wave Maker, the eleventh exclusive color for Toyota’s TRD Pro line, will be available at dealerships later this year.
Over the years, Toyota’s TRD Pro line has featured some outstanding color choices: Army Green, Electric Lime, Terra, Mudbath, and more. This year, the brand is introducing another striking hue to its extensive color selection: Wave Maker.
Developed by the Calty Design team at Toyota, Wave Maker is the eleventh distinct paint choice for the TRD Pro line. For 2025, it will be one of just five colors offered for TRD Pro models, joining Ice Cap, Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black, and the previously mentioned Mudbath.
Toyota’s General Manager says
“We spent several years using warm natural shades influenced by traditional landscapes like Terra and Mudbath as our signature colors. With Wave Maker, our inspiration came from uncharted adventure areas, extending even to space. Wave Maker captures an elemental essence that conjures images of icy depths and the excitement of venturing into new territories.” — Benjamin Jimenez, General Manager, Calty Ann Arbor.
The new color is reminiscent of the existing Heritage Blue found on other models such as the 4Runner and Land Cruiser, yet it holds its own uniqueness. It differentiates itself from its counterpart hue with a brighter appearance and more turquoise undertones. Currently, there aren’t many similar colors available on the market.
Wave Maker will debut on TRD Pro versions of the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia later this year. While Toyota has not yet disclosed whether there will be an additional cost, anticipate an increase of around $350 to $475 if it is added (which is quite likely).
