The actor and model Shefali Jariwala, best recognized for her breakout role in the famous music video Kaanta Laga, tragically passed away in Mumbai late Friday, with her last rites held on Saturday, attended by close friends and family.

She was taken to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Andheri by her husband, Parag Tyagi, where doctors pronounced her dead. The official cause of her death has yet to be confirmed.

Is the anti-aging treatment connected to Shefali Jariwala’s passing?

As stated by Mumbai Police, an autopsy was performed, and the results regarding the cause of death have been “reserved.” The body was sent to Cooper Hospital, which is run by the civic body, for a post-mortem examination. Due to the unclear cause of death, Mumbai police have filed an accidental death report (ADR).

“The autopsy has been conducted, but the opinion regarding the cause of death is still pending. Based on initial findings, it seems to be a natural death, and there is no indication of foul play,” a police official noted.

Following notification of her death, a mobile forensic unit and a police team arrived at the actor’s apartment to initiate an investigation.

According to police sources cited by NDTV, the actress was allegedly receiving anti-aging treatments that included Vitamin C and Glutathione, a substance often used for skin lightening and detoxification.

As reported by sources from the Indian Express, Jariwala had taken her regular medications on Friday evening. Earlier in the day, she received an injection, reportedly of the anti-aging drug. After taking these, her blood pressure reportedly plummeted that night, and she started shivering, which led her family to quickly take her to the hospital.

It has also been reported that she had been fasting throughout the day due to a ritual at her home, and that taking pills on an empty stomach may have aggravated her situation.

The sequence of events indicates that Shefali’s health began to decline between 10 and 11 PM on June 27.

The forensic team has gathered multiple items from the residence as part of their investigation. Statements from various individuals have been recorded in connection to the ongoing inquiry.

Initial reports suggest that Shefali experienced a sudden cardiac arrest late Friday night, between June 27 and June 28.
