Poco-X7

According to Poco, the X7 series will debut in India on January 9, 2025. Two phones are involved in the conflict. The Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro are these. Himanshu Tandon, the head of Poco India, has separately stated that the Poco X7 Neo will not be launching anytime soon.

Xiaomi spin-off Poco has revealed and hinted at the future phones’ designs. The initial appearance is consistent with the information provided by the disclosures. Most likely, the Poco X7 Pro is a repackaged Redmi Turbo 4, which will make its debut in China on January 2. The phone will be delivered in the distinctive Poco yellow color. Regarding the Poco X7, it is strongly evoking the Redmi 14 Pro.

Poco X7 series India launch: Details here

The Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro duo will officially launch in India on January 9. Himanshu writes on X (formerly Twitter) that the phones will launch at an on-ground event, possibly in Delhi, with the keynote available to stream online from 5:30 PM IST.

The Poco X7 Pro is obviously the higher-end model in the series and therefore, a bit more exciting. Speculation is rife that it could be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 in which case, it would be the first smartphone in India to launch with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor bringing “all big cores” to a more accessible price point than the flagship Dimensity 9400 seen inside the Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8 series devices.

The design reveals confirms the X7 Pro has a flat chassis and a dual camera setup on the back headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization. It could also be one of the first devices to launch with Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 software based on Android 15. Like the Poco X6 Pro, there will likely be a big focus on delivering high performance at an aggressive price.

More hardware specifications are awaited but expect a bit more clarity once the Redmi Turbo 4 becomes official. The Poco X7 looks like it’s following the blueprint for the Redmi 14 Pro, as far as hardware specs are concerned, though it would be expected to cost less and so, end up becoming more value for money in the grand scheme of things. The Poco X6 was Rs 6,000 cheaper than an equivalent Redmi 14 Pro at launch for reference. The Poco India country head has teased a few features including a curved display and “unparalleled” durability.

The Poco X7 series is a Flipkart exclusive, much like other Poco phones in India.
