Krunal Pandya’s impressive three-wicket performance limited the Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 174/8 in their 20 overs

The Kolkata Knight Riders looked set to reach the 250-run mark as Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane were on fire after the early dismissal of Quinton de Kock in the opening over of the IPL 2025 match at Eden Gardens. However, both players fell shortly after, allowing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to make a strong comeback. KKR’s captain Rahane scored 56 runs off 31 balls, striking 6 fours and 4 sixes. Meanwhile, Narine added 44 runs off 26 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes. The duo put together a partnership of 103 runs for the second wicket.

Krunal Pandya’s Performance

Krunal Pandya stood out among the bowlers for the visiting team, claiming three wickets. He took out Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, and Rinku Singh while giving away 29 runs in his four overs. Consequently, the Knight Riders finished their innings at 174/8 after 20 overs.

Prior to this, RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first against the defending champions.
