Cardi B has revealed her upcoming album titled Am I the Drama?

The sequel to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy. This will be her first album in seven years, slated for release on September 19 through Atlantic Records. The 23-track collection will feature songs like “Outside,” “Up,” and “WAP.” Check out the album cover below.

Last week, Cardi B made her return with “Outside,” her initial solo release in over a year, produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki, along with co-production from DJ SwanQo. Just two days later, she hinted at a new announcement, saying, “Seven years, and the time has come. Seven years of love, life, and loss. After seven years, I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I’ve learned that power is not given; it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers, and the tears are gone. I’m not back; I’m beyond. I’m not your villain; I’m your karma. The moment is here. The moment is now.”

Prior to “Outside,” she released “Enough (Miami),” marking her first official solo single since “Up” in 2021. During this period, she has collaborated on several tracks, including 2023’s “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “Put It on da Floor Again” with Latto; as well as songs from 2022 with Kanye West, Glorilla, Kay Flock, and Rosalía; and, in 2021, works with Lizzo (“Rumors”), Normani (“Wild Side”), Migos (“Type Shit”), and Summer Walker (“Bitter”).

Since her debut, Cardi B’s most notable hit has been “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion from 2020. That track wasn’t submitted for Grammy consideration, despite their performance at the 2021 event, as representatives indicated a Grammy campaign was set for a new Cardi B album that year, which ultimately did not come out in time for eligibility. At the close of 2022, Cardi B addressed the leak of supposed (and eventually fake) new material with a brief clip of an unknown, unreleased song. “HERE some scraps since y’all STARVING.”

In addition to her music career, Cardi B has devoted part of her time since Invasion of Privacy to advocating for Bernie Sanders, interviewing Joe Biden, and participating in the comedy film Assisted Living, from which she eventually withdrew, leading to production being halted. In 2020, she appeared in the Facebook Watch series Cardi Tries, where she explored learning new skills like ballet, gaming, ranching, stunt diving, and more.
