Businessman Sunjay Kapur, who was previously married to Karisma Kapoor, tragically passed away at 53 after experiencing a heart attack during a polo match in England. He is survived by his current wife Priya Sachdev and his two children from his marriage to Karisma—Samaira and Kiaan.

Suhel Seth, an actor and author, expressed his sorrow on X (formerly known as Twitter) regarding Sunjay Kapur’s death, confirming the information in a heartfelt note.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of @sunjaykapur: he lost his life earlier today in England. It is a profound loss, and I extend my sincerest condolences to his family and colleagues @sonacomstar. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur married on September 29, 2003, in an extravagant Sikh wedding ceremony held at the actress’s family’s residence, the Krishna Raj Bungalow in Mumbai. After being together for more than ten years, the couple filed for a mutual divorce in 2014. However, in 2015, they returned to court to withdraw their consent. Their divorce was ultimately finalized in 2016.

In that same year, Karisma lodged a domestic violence complaint against Sunjay and his mother, alleging physical abuse and claiming that Sunjay was involved with another woman. She also accused him of dowry harassment, which prompted the Mumbai police to summon Sunjay. The former couple was already caught in a bitter legal dispute over custody and separation.

They share two children together, Samaira and Kiaan.
