Travis Scott:The black market is experiencing a resurgence following the sell-out of both concerts in Delhi

Travis Scott’s eagerly awaited concert in India witnessed tickets disappearing within seconds of becoming available, triggering widespread anger as black market activity arose quickly, reminiscent of the Coldplay concert incidents in Mumbai and Ahmedabad earlier this year.

In spite of previous warnings from ticketing platforms and law enforcement after the Coldplay event, which promised strict repercussions for black marketers, the same issue has reemerged. Currently, tickets for Travis Scott’s performance are being resold on secondary sites like Viagogo at inflated prices.

On these resale sites, tickets that originally cost between ₹3,500 and ₹30,000 (for lounge access) are now available for as much as ₹3,00,000. The lowest price on the black market is currently ₹5,582, still well above the initial price range.

As millions of fans anxiously waited in line on BookMyShow, concerns have been raised regarding black marketers capitalizing on such high-demand events for personal gain, in spite of ongoing warnings and commitments from authorities and ticketing companies for more regulation.

Tickets for the October 18 concert became available on Saturday at noon and were sold out within minutes. The ticketing platform then proceeded to announce another concert on October 19, with tickets going live at 1 PM, which also sold out in mere minutes, as reported by users across social media.

Both concerts will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

Numerous fans who had been waiting online reported missing out on ticket purchases despite spending hours in line. The digital queue system became a laughing stock on social media, with users humorously comparing their ticket queue numbers to their JEE ranks, highlighting the frustration and absurdity of the situation.
