Shares of Protean eGov Technologies, under the ownership of Ramesh Damani, have dropped 20% after the weekend’s developments

The steep decline in the company’s share price followed the Income Tax Department’s decision not to select them for its PAN systems overhaul project. Despite this obstacle, the company asserts that it will have a negligible impact on its current PAN processing services. The stock’s downfall has erased all gains recorded over the past year, even with prominent investors like Ramesh Damani holding shares.

Protean eGov Technologies’ shares fell sharply by 20%, hitting the lower circuit limit of Rs 1,143 on BSE due to its exclusion by the Income Tax Department (ITD) from the technology revamp project. This initiative involves the design, development, execution, operation, and maintenance of the PAN systems.

“We received a communication from the Income Tax Department (ITD) indicating that we were not favorably considered for the next stage of the RFP selection process,” Protean mentioned in a regulatory announcement on Sunday.

The company indicated that the project relates to a technology overhaul of the PAN systems at the Income Tax Department. “It seems that this might have limited or minimal impact on our existing PAN processing and issuance services under the current mandate with the ITD,” it further explained.

Protean had entered the bidding for the role of a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for the PAN 2.0 Project.

Protean eGov Technologies’ performance

In the wake of this drop, the stock has wiped away all gains from the previous year and has seen a decrease of over 4% in the last 12 months. Renowned investor Ramesh Damani possessed a 1.05% stake in the company as of the March quarter.

The firm’s institutional shareholders encompass Canara Bank (1.23%), Bank of Baroda (1.54%), Punjab National Bank (2.25%), Axis Bank (3.18%), and State Bank of India (4.93%).

As per Trendlyne data, the stock has received four ‘buy’ recommendations, with an average target price of Rs 2,104, suggesting a potential upside of 47%.

Toyota’s latest blue paint is fantastic, but it’s limited to select models

Wave Maker, the eleventh exclusive color for Toyota’s TRD Pro line, will be available at dealerships later this year.

Over the years, Toyota’s TRD Pro line has featured some outstanding color choices: Army Green, Electric Lime, Terra, Mudbath, and more. This year, the brand is introducing another striking hue to its extensive color selection: Wave Maker.

Developed by the Calty Design team at Toyota, Wave Maker is the eleventh distinct paint choice for the TRD Pro line. For 2025, it will be one of just five colors offered for TRD Pro models, joining Ice Cap, Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black, and the previously mentioned Mudbath.

Toyota’s General Manager says

“We spent several years using warm natural shades influenced by traditional landscapes like Terra and Mudbath as our signature colors. With Wave Maker, our inspiration came from uncharted adventure areas, extending even to space. Wave Maker captures an elemental essence that conjures images of icy depths and the excitement of venturing into new territories.” — Benjamin Jimenez, General Manager, Calty Ann Arbor.

The new color is reminiscent of the existing Heritage Blue found on other models such as the 4Runner and Land Cruiser, yet it holds its own uniqueness. It differentiates itself from its counterpart hue with a brighter appearance and more turquoise undertones. Currently, there aren’t many similar colors available on the market.

Wave Maker will debut on TRD Pro versions of the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia later this year. While Toyota has not yet disclosed whether there will be an additional cost, anticipate an increase of around $350 to $475 if it is added (which is quite likely).

Ralph Fiennes is set to portray President Snow in ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ (Exclusive)

Ralph Fiennes will take on the role of the sinister politician, a character previously depicted by the late Donald Sutherland.

Lionsgate has confirmed that Ralph Fiennes will play the tyrannical leader of Panem in the upcoming film directed by Francis Lawrence, as reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter. The cast already includes Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, and Ben Wang, as previously announced, in this adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ acclaimed novel.

Fiennes steps into the shoes of the late Donald Sutherland, who portrayed Coriolanus Snow in the four initial films of the series, which began with The Hunger Games in theaters in 2012. Blyth played a younger version of the character alongside Rachel Zegler in the 2023 prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

Ralph Fiennes, The Hunger Games:

Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled to hit theaters on November 20, 2026, directed by Lawrence with a script by Billy Ray based on Collins’ book. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are producing, and Cameron MacConomy is onboard as an executive producer.

Jacobson expresses, “We aimed to honor Donald Sutherland by casting one of today’s finest actors to portray President Snow 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s entrance into the arena. Collaborating with Ralph has been a dream of mine since he left a lasting impression on me in Schindler’s List. It’s truly exciting to welcome him to the Hunger Games franchise.”

Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are supervising Sunrise on the Reaping for Lionsgate, with Phil Strina negotiating the deal for the studio.

The novel Sunrise on the Reaping brings readers back to Panem on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, which occurs 24 years before the events of the franchise’s original book The Hunger Games, first published in 2008. The first five films of the franchise have grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide, with the first four features led by Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal of Katniss Everdeen.

Fiennes, a three-time Oscar nominee, earned his most recent Academy Award nomination for his performance in last year’s Conclave. Upcoming projects for him include Nicholas Hytner’s The Choral and Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later. He is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer in the U.S. and 42MP in the U.K.

Chris Brown was taken into custody in the UK

On Thursday, UK police arrested Chris Brown for allegedly assaulting someone with a bottle at a London nightclub in 2023. The Metropolitan Police did not disclose Brown’s name but confirmed that a 36-year-old was arrested at a hotel in Manchester on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm. British law prevents police from identifying suspects prior to charges being laid.

Chris Brown incident

The Sun, the first outlet to report the incident, mentioned that producer Abe Diaw disclosed on Sunday that he was hospitalized after being attacked by Brown without provocation at the Tape nightclub located in the upscale Mayfair area of London in February 2023.

According to the tabloid, it learned of Brown’s presence in the UK on Wednesday and contacted police to inquire about his arrest status. Officers from the Metropolitan Police then proceeded to Manchester to carry out the arrest.

Brown’s representative has not yet responded to a request for comment from The Associated Press.

Diaw alleged that Brown struck him on the head with a bottle and then punched and kicked him while he was down. The producer has initiated a lawsuit against the singer for 12 million pounds ($16 million).

At the time of the altercation, Brown was on a tour in the UK. He is scheduled to perform in the UK again in June and July.

Alia Bhatt is currently facing controversy regarding her UK citizenship

A topic that gained attention after her mother, Soni Razdan, made remarks about India-Pakistan relations. Although Alia Bhatt was born and raised in India, she possesses British citizenship due to her mother’s British lineage. This issue came back into focus when Soni posted a petition on Instagram urging an end to hostilities between India and Pakistan. Her post attracted criticism, prompting many to question the loyalty of both her and Alia towards India.

In light of the backlash, Soni clarified her viewpoint. She conveyed that her call for peace was focused on Pakistan, which she views as the aggressor. Soni stressed that India’s responses are defensive and warranted. She expressed her dismay over the misinterpretation of her message and reaffirmed her sorrow over the ongoing conflict.

Alia Bhatt holding a British passport

Alia Bhatt acknowledged her British citizenship in an interview while promoting her Hollywood film “Heart of Stone.” Since her mother was born in Birmingham, UK, Alia acquired British citizenship by descent. Although she resides in India, this facet of her identity frequently leads to discussions about her national loyalty.

Soni Razdan has previously responded to similar criticisms concerning her citizenship. In 2019, she disclosed that she holds British citizenship, but maintained her commitment to being a responsible citizen of India. She asserted that advocating against hate transcends borders and is rooted in fundamental human values.

The controversy escalated as social media users voiced doubts about Soni’s sincerity. One individual criticized her for promoting peace without acknowledging the complexities of the conflict, citing the challenges faced by civilians due to attacks, even as Indian soldiers conduct carefully targeted operations.

Soni replied to these remarks by emphasizing that peace necessitates collaboration between nations. She questioned whether individuals truly believed that Pakistan was engaged in a war solely against itself. Her comments aimed to dispel misconceptions about her intentions and underscore the necessity of dialogue between the countries.

In another instance, Soni defended her entitlement to express her views despite possessing foreign citizenship. She contended that paying taxes and contributing to the economy provide her with a stake in national issues. Her statements highlighted the significance of secularism and democratic values over mere nationality.

This ongoing discussion reflects larger themes surrounding identity and belonging in an increasingly globalized world. While some continue to view Alia Bhatt’s British citizenship as a contentious issue, it also illustrates how global identities can exist alongside national affiliations.
