Volkswagen has introduced the latest Tiguan R-Line in India at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 49 lakh

The new VW Tiguan R-Line is constructed on the enhanced MQB Evo platform and features numerous aesthetic updates compared to the regular Tiguan. The streamlined headlamps are linked by a glass-covered horizontal strip that bears an ‘R’ badge, signifying its exclusivity. The SUV is fitted with 19-inch wheels and showcases dynamic 3D LED lights.

Inside, the vehicle boasts a contemporary cabin with ‘R’ branding on the seats and a backlit ‘R’ logo on the dashboard. The seats come with a massage function and adjustable lumbar support, as well as customizable ambient lighting. The vehicle also boasts a 15-inch infotainment screen, a digital dashboard, three-zone climate control, an IDA voice assistant, a voice enhancement system, and a panoramic sunroof.

In international markets, Volkswagen provides the Tiguan R-Line with a range of petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options. However, the version available in India is equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine, paired with a seven-speed DSG 4Motion (All Wheel Drive) transmission. The engine produces power and torque ratings of 201bhp and 320Nm, respectively.

Mahindra has officially launched the limited-edition XUV700 Ebony Edition in India, with prices starting at ₹19.64 lakh and reaching up to ₹24.14 lakh (ex-showroom)

This variant represents a fresh interpretation of an all-black SUV, intentionally incorporating contrasting features. The unique design concept was developed based on customer input, according to the company.

The Ebony Edition is exclusively available on the high-end AX7 and AX7L trims, costing approximately ₹15,000 more than their standard versions. The powertrain options for the XUV700 Ebony Edition are identical to those of the regular models.

It features a 200hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 185hp, 2.2-liter diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission options. However, it is only available in front-wheel drive and the seven-seat layout.

The exterior is finished in a shiny black coat (referred to as Stealth Black by Mahindra), equipped with blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, silver scuff plates, and Ebony logos on the front fenders and tailgate. Inside, the XUV700 Ebony Edition is adorned with black leatherette seats featuring white stitching, along with a dark dashboard and door finishes. Contrasting design elements consist of a light gray roof liner, silver plastic trims on the steering wheel and dashboard, and dark chrome highlights on the gear console and steering-mounted controls.

The feature list remains the same as the AX7 and AX7L variants, including safety features such as rear seatbelt reminders, which are now standard across all XUV700 models.

Mahindra XEV 9e has been developed by the company on the INGLO platform. This electric SUV has been given many amazing features. Its booking will start from 14th February and delivery will be done at the beginning of March.

Mahindra launched its new electric SUV ‘XEV 9E’ late last year. At that time the company had announced the price of only its base variant which starts from Rs 21.90 lakh. Now the company has revealed the price of its top-spec variant. The price of its top variant starts from Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the prices of the mid-spec variant (Pack 2) are yet to be revealed. It is important to note here that, these prices do not include the cost of the charger, which will have to be purchased separately.

Booking and delivery date

Bookings for the top variant Pack Three of Mahindra XEV 9e will start from February 14 and deliveries will be made in early March. Registration of other trims and the company has not yet shared the information about the delivery timeline. But customers can wishlist this electric SUV through the company’s official smartphone app.

In terms of size, it is bigger than Mahindra’s famous model XUV700. Its length is approximately 5 mm longer than that of the XUV700, while its wheelbase is also 5 mm longer than that of the XUV’s 2,750 mm. Due to this you also get a better cabin. It has been given a futuristic design. It features triangular headlights with projector headlamps, inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), an LED light bar at the front, new front and rear bumpers, a blanked-off grille, front, and rear skid plates, and a colored exterior.

Side rear view mirrors (ORVM) are provided. It also gets flush door handles, muscular shoulder lines, and specially designed aero-optimized 19-inch alloy wheels for added range. However, this SUV also gets the option of 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets thin, connected LED tail lights just below the boot spoiler which enhances its rear profile.

Charging and driving range:

Based on the INGLO platform, this SUV has been introduced with two different battery packs including 59kWh and 79kWh. Both its variants have LFP (Lithium-Iron Phosphate) batteries. The company is giving a lifetime warranty on them. Mahindra claims that the car with a 79kWh unit gives a range of 656 km on a single charge. Whereas in the real world, this SUV is capable of traveling at least 533 km.

This implies that you can drive from Delhi to Lucknow (about 540 km away) after charging this electric SUV once. The driving style, load, and road conditions all affect the car’s driving range. According to the company, a 175kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

This 5-seater car has 3 separate screens. Each screen is 12.3 inches. They run on Mahindra’s Adrenox software. This SUV has a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, on which an illuminated logo is found. Electronic parking brake, drive mode, and brake-by-wire technology have also been used well in this. 650 liters of boot space and 150 liters of frunk (small storage space found under the front bonnet) give you a complete luggage storage facility.
