Mahindra has officially launched the limited-edition XUV700 Ebony Edition in India, with prices starting at ₹19.64 lakh and reaching up to ₹24.14 lakh (ex-showroom)

This variant represents a fresh interpretation of an all-black SUV, intentionally incorporating contrasting features. The unique design concept was developed based on customer input, according to the company.

The Ebony Edition is exclusively available on the high-end AX7 and AX7L trims, costing approximately ₹15,000 more than their standard versions. The powertrain options for the XUV700 Ebony Edition are identical to those of the regular models.

It features a 200hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 185hp, 2.2-liter diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission options. However, it is only available in front-wheel drive and the seven-seat layout.

The feature list remains the same as the AX7 and AX7L variants, including safety features such as rear seatbelt reminders, which are now standard across all XUV700 models.

Skoda Auto India plans to step up its game in 2025 by focusing on new SUVs.

Maintaining a fresh portfolio is problematic in a market with shorter model lifecycles. Since the introduction of the Kushaq SUV three years ago, Skoda Auto India’s yearly sales have more than doubled to nearly 53,700 vehicles. However, Skoda’s sales decreased to 48, 800 units over the previous calendar year, an almost 6% decline. The Czech automaker is getting ready to launch many new models in 2025.

It will introduce the second version of its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, at the high end.The SUV is anticipated to launch in June of next year and will cost more than the present model. Since its premiere in India seven years ago, Skoda’s first seven-seater full-size SUV, the Kodiaq, has sold close to 10,000 units.
