Everything we know about Apple’s upcoming significant release, iOS 19

The IT community is buzzing over Apple’s upcoming iOS 19, with many speculations speculating about what it might bring.

An updated Siri was previously hinted at by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, while a recent leak suggests a revamped Camera app.

Additionally, it appears that certain additional functionality might potentially be added gradually in subsequent editions.

Here is what we currently know.

Jon Prosser demonstrated the updated Camera app in a Front Page Tech YouTube video. Transparent menus for camera controls, akin to those in visionOS, Apple’s software framework for the Vision Pro headset, are reportedly the primary update.

Compared to iOS 18, the updated Camera app in iOS 19 is said to display a larger portion of the camera’s viewfinder.

At the bottom of the application, the controls are divided into two categories: Photo and Video.

Additional parameters for video resolution and frame rate that appear at the top of the screen as needed are among the new features, along with the ability to record spatial video and set a timer for a picture.

Siri to become more conversational in IOS 19

Gurman earlier predicted a “more conversational Siri” would appear with iOS 19, powered by enhanced language models for answering difficult inquiries. Its release has apparently been postponed, maybe until iOS 20, even though Apple may highlight it during the iOS 19 reveal.

Any iPhone that can run iOS 18 will also be able to run iOS 19, according to the French website iPhoneSoft.fr.

This includes the likes of iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and all variants of iPhone 11 and later.

Naturally, some iOS 19 features won’t be supported on older iPhones.

Google Chrome users should take note: A warning has been issued by a government agency for users of Google Chrome, so it’s important to be informed quickly to avoid potential losses

Google Chrome: The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), linked to the Government of India, has released an important caution for those using Google Chrome. This warning specifically targets individuals who access this popular browser on Windows or macOS devices.

CERT-In has informed in its bulletin that Google Chrome users using certain devices need to be careful, due to which flaws they are in danger. It states that ‘many flaws in Google Chrome have come to the fore due to incorrect implementation of extension API and use of Free in Skia, V8.’ Attackers and scammers can take advantage of these existing flaws.

A remote attacker could inflict damage on google chrome

The identified vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser are found within crucial components of the browser, which is why users are at risk. According to the agency, these vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to target users without needing physical access to their devices.

In simpler terms, a device can be hacked via a specially crafted webpage without anyone needing to touch it. Consequently, this may lead to scenarios like data theft, identity theft, and draining accounts through other fraudulent activities.

Users will have to wait for a resolution

While the browser usually updates automatically to the most recent version, if you haven’t yet updated Chrome, it’s crucial to do so immediately. If your browser hasn’t received the latest update, you will need to wait for the solution. Chrome versions older than 133.0.6943.53 on Linux and versions older than 133.0.6943.53/54 on Windows or Mac are considered at risk.

Apple’s thinnest phone, the iPhone 17 Air, price leak, and other information

Air Price Leak for the iPhone 17: There have been a lot of leaked reports about Apple’s next devices. If these allegations are accurate, the iPhone 17 Air will be released this year as part of the company’s 17-series gadget lineup. This may be the brand’s thinnest phone, with a single back camera and additional features.

We are discussing the alleged thinnest phone in the company’s lineup, the iPhone 17 Air. Apple has not released any official information on the launch date of this phone.
The corporation is expected to release this phone in September 2025, replacing the iPhone Plus models, if stories are to be believed.

The South Korean publisher Sisa Journal claims that the upcoming Apple phone will be extremely thin, with a maximum thickness of 6.25 mm. The company’s most well-known phone, the iPhone 6, had a thickness of 6.9 mm. In addition, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be 20% thinner than the current iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, meaning that the company will release the iPhone 17 Air instead of the iPhone 17 Plus.

The price of the device will be higher in other markets, such as the UK, where it will retail for 899 pounds (roughly 92 thousand rupees). Nothing is known about the cost of this phone in India.

Iphone 17 Air launch with the best processor

It has a 6.6-inch display option. Additionally, the brand will only supply one camera. The iPhone 17 Air is compatible with the brand’s proprietary modem. A19 processor smartphones featuring Dynamic Island-like features will be released. It supports Apple Intelligence and may be equipped with 8GB of RAM.

You might have to give up a lot of functions if your iPhone is tiny. These phones have tiny batteries and slow charging speeds. It has previously been reported that the business can only provide one back camera. The pricing leak makes it evident that the iPhone 17 Air will be lower than the Pro variants.

Poco X7 phone series launch in India on January 9: Poco X7, X7 Pro price and features

According to Poco, the X7 series will debut in India on January 9, 2025. Two phones are involved in the conflict. The Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro are these. Himanshu Tandon, the head of Poco India, has separately stated that the Poco X7 Neo will not be launching anytime soon.

Xiaomi spin-off Poco has revealed and hinted at the future phones’ designs. The initial appearance is consistent with the information provided by the disclosures. Most likely, the Poco X7 Pro is a repackaged Redmi Turbo 4, which will make its debut in China on January 2. The phone will be delivered in the distinctive Poco yellow color. Regarding the Poco X7, it is strongly evoking the Redmi 14 Pro.

Poco X7 series India launch: Details here

The Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro duo will officially launch in India on January 9. Himanshu writes on X (formerly Twitter) that the phones will launch at an on-ground event, possibly in Delhi, with the keynote available to stream online from 5:30 PM IST.

The Poco X7 Pro is obviously the higher-end model in the series and therefore, a bit more exciting. Speculation is rife that it could be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 in which case, it would be the first smartphone in India to launch with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor bringing “all big cores” to a more accessible price point than the flagship Dimensity 9400 seen inside the Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8 series devices.

The design reveals confirms the X7 Pro has a flat chassis and a dual camera setup on the back headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization. It could also be one of the first devices to launch with Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 software based on Android 15. Like the Poco X6 Pro, there will likely be a big focus on delivering high performance at an aggressive price.

More hardware specifications are awaited but expect a bit more clarity once the Redmi Turbo 4 becomes official. The Poco X7 looks like it’s following the blueprint for the Redmi 14 Pro, as far as hardware specs are concerned, though it would be expected to cost less and so, end up becoming more value for money in the grand scheme of things. The Poco X6 was Rs 6,000 cheaper than an equivalent Redmi 14 Pro at launch for reference. The Poco India country head has teased a few features including a curved display and “unparalleled” durability.

The Poco X7 series is a Flipkart exclusive, much like other Poco phones in India.
