On Tuesday, Google highlighted its “AI Mode” offering on the Doodle, as the company aims to introduce more users to its newest AI capabilities amid competition from startups specializing in artificial intelligence.

AI Mode serves as a chatbot-like interface designed to handle more intricate user inquiries.
The company first introduced AI Mode next to its search results page back in March. The Google Doodle, considered the most valuable digital space for Alphabet, was utilized on Tuesday to feature “AI Mode,” its newest AI search tool.

An animated graphic appeared on the landing pages of Google’s Chrome browser and its main home page, directing users to AI Mode when clicked; this graphic also included a share option.
The promotion of AI Mode on the Google Doodle comes as the tech giant seeks to raise awareness of its advanced AI features in light of competition from AI startups such as OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, Anthropic, which developed Claude, and Perplexity AI, billed as an “AI-powered answer engine.”
AI Mode provides a chatbot-like interface aimed at tackling complex inquiries from users.
The service started being featured alongside search results in March.

“Search whatever’s on your mind and receive AI-generated responses,” the description for the product reads when accessed from the home page.
AI Mode is driven by Google’s leading AI model, Gemini, and has been gradually made available to more users across the U.S. since its rollout.

Users have the option to interact with AI Mode by asking questions via text, voice, or images; Google claims that this tool simplifies the search for answers to intricate questions that may have required several searches before.
In May, Google trialed the AI Mode feature directly under the search bar, replacing the rarely altered “I’m Feeling Lucky” option.
